This group uses block scheduling and is essentially 7 on/7 off, 15 12-hour shifts. As they add more to the group they are considering improving this schedule. They currently have 7 working at a time, but would like to have 8-10 working at a time. Current patient load is 15-18 and will increase to 18-20 per day. Salary is $180,000 plus bonuses. They will cover the malpractice premium (but no tail coverage). Pension plan available. This is a very diverse and cohesive group. Great location in Iowa. Hospitalist Program Profile
• At the Medical Center, the Hospitalist Team of 7 full time equivalent physicians will provide 24 hour coverage, 7 days a week. Each full time hospitalist will work 192 hours of clinical professional medical services per month, consisting of approximately twelve and eight-hour shifts.
The Hospitalist Team provides service response for codes, consultations, inpatient episodic medical care, ICU procedures, unassigned ED call and patient admission/discharge
