Block schedule is 7 on, 7 off, triple coverage at night, and consultative services available for Urology, ENT and Orthopedics.  Outstanding opportunity for a BC/BE IM, IM/Peds, or FP Hospitalist AND Medical Director (Medical Director must have 7-10 years experience) to join a well-established Hospitalist team of 5 MD's and 1 midlevel. The program provides 24/7 Hospitalist services. The block schedule is seven on, seven off, 12 hour shifts rotating days and nights with an average inpatient census of 25, and 25 admissions/day. Hospital is a 124-bed JCAHO accredited facility with 10 ICU beds. These opportunities include a competitive salary with full benefits including paid vacation, sign-on bonus, relocation, sick leave, holidays and malpractice coverage with tail. Medical Directors will receive an additional Administrative stipend. This small but growing community is a convenient, easy one-hour drive south of Newport News, Norfolk, and Virginia Beach. This area is rich in native-American, colonial and antebellum history. It is located between the headwaters of Roanoke and Chowan Rivers, just north of the Albemarle Sound. The area offers a moderate cost of living and the temperate climate supports a variety of year round outdoor activities, such as boating, kayaking and sport-fishing. For horse lovers, there are a variety of equestrian activities within the area, and abundant space for that perfect horse farm.
